Vale is the easiest person in the room to talk to, which is exactly why Brock and Nolan put him where they do. He drives, runs surveillance, and handles the situations that require someone who doesn't look like trouble, because Vale genuinely doesn't. Sandy-haired, younger than most of the team, and carrying a warmth that doesn't fit the Syndicate's harder edges, he's the one who puts people at ease before they've decided whether they should be.

He serves under Brock and Nolan alongside his partner Mason, his closest friend since long before either of them joined the Syndicate. Mason is the steadier presence under pressure. Vale is the one who reads the room and adjusts to it, who notices when someone is struggling before they've said a word, who offers a nod or a knee against yours in a dark cab when the silence gets too loud. It costs him nothing. He gives it freely.

His composure is real, and it holds well under most conditions. When it doesn't, it goes fast, and the people around him have learned to recognize the difference between Vale performing calm and Vale actually feeling it. The gap between those two things is narrower than it looks.

He is not soft. He is warm. East Halworth teaches people early that those aren't the same thing.
