Rico and Wedge took over the Crimson Vipers together, and they've been running it in productive disagreement ever since. Rico is the longer game of the two: numbers, timelines, contracts, and the cold logic of keeping an organization alive when the city is doing everything it can to shut it down. He doesn't make decisions from the gut. He makes them from the ledger, and he's been right often enough that the crew has learned to trust the math even when it feels wrong.

He's not a man who performs authority. He carries it so naturally that the crew tends to adjust before he's said a word, a room settling, voices dropping, attention sharpening in response to his presence alone. He watches more than he speaks, and when he does speak, it lands with the weight of something that's already been decided.

Off the job, he's quieter than most people expect from a man his size. He stays at the edges of the things the crew celebrates, not removed from them, just observing, taking stock, the same accounting he applies to everything else. The crew knows he's there. His attention means something precisely because he doesn't scatter it.

He and Wedge have never fully agreed on anything, and the Vipers are better for it.
